Radishes are flavorful, crisp, and piquant. It is no wonder that people like them so much. Radishes are a great addition to your diet. If you are not consuming 2 to 3 cups of veggies per day, you should think about changing your habits. They are not just foods for garnishing, you know. Radishes contain essential nutrients and provide many health benefits, making a huge difference. The point is that they are good for you. So, buy them small or big. It does not matter, as long as you eat plenty of vegetables. In what follows, we are going to explain the health benefits of radishes.

Radishes reduce your risk of cancer

Radishes are part of the brassica family, along with members like broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts. What all these veggies have in common is that they contain sulforaphane and indole-3, which have anti-cancer action. If you consume radishes on a regular basis, you can significantly reduce your risk of developing cancer. According to research, these vegetables put a stop to tumor growth. The antioxidant substances slow down the growth of several types of cancer, providing protection against breast and stomach cancer. What you need to know is that radishes induce apoptosis – in other words, they kill cancer cells. It is best to eat radishes raw. If you are not a big fan of salads, then feast upon them raw with butter and salt. It is very tasty.

Radishes are rich in fulvic acids

Fulvic acids, commonly referred to as fulvic minerals, are incredibly powerful antioxidants that help in the fight against chronic illnesses, like diabetes. What happens is that the fulvic acids are made up of organic polymers that release hydrogen ions. The result is an electric charge that attacks free radicals, such as heavy metals and toxins. Taking into consideration that inflammatory diseases are on the rise, it is recommendable to protect yourself. Fulvic acids are found in organic vegetables like radishes, which grow directly in the soil. Even if you may hate these veggies, you should have a bite every now and then.

    Radishes are immunity boosters

It goes without saying that a strong immune system helps you stay in tip-top shape. If you are not one of the few lucky people who was endowed with a good immune system, you have to do your best to reinforce your health. Besides quitting smoking and getting more sleep, it is necessary to increase your intake of veggies. In case you did not know, radishes are immunity boosters. They contain lots and lots of vitamin C. When the cells of the immune system have enough of this vitamin, they are able to perform their tasks. Taking into account that the veggies are rich in vitamin C, they protect you from the common cold and, in general, improve the function of the immune system. That is reason enough to start eating radishes. They are so pretty and irresistible that you will not be able to resist the temptation of taking a bite.
